About us
mothers2mothers (m2m) is an Africa-based not-for-profit organisation leading global efforts to end paediatric AIDS and create healthy families and communities across ten sub-Saharan African countries. We employ women living with HIV as Frontline Health Workers. We know ending HIV is just the start. Please browse this page or visit our website to learn more. We train and employ women living with HIV as community healthcare workers - Mentor Mothers - who provide lifesaving health education and services to women, children, and families at health facilities and door-to-door in the community. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, many have been designated “essential workers” and are working on the front lines to ensure that families continue to connect to the health services they need to stay healthy, and thrive. The more than one million women, children, and families we work with need us more than ever, during this urgent time as we continue on the journey towards health for all. Since we began in 2001, we have reached over 11M women and children under two, and created over 11,000 jobs for women living with HIV. We won't stop until our goal of a healthy and HIV-free generation, becomes a reality.

🎉 One of the highlights from our Q2 2024 Impact Report is that we’ve enrolled over 40,000 adolescent girls and young women so far this year—meaning we are more than halfway toward our annual target! 🎉 This achievement is powered by our programmes in Ghana, South Africa, Uganda, and Zambia, where we address the specialised needs of this population in local communities. This is particularly important given the heightened risks adolescent girls and young women in sub-Saharan Africa face, including health disparities, gender-based violence, and limited access to education and economic opportunities. Here's to ensuring adolescent girls and young women across sub-Saharan Africa have the opportunity to be healthy and make informed choices about their future! 💪 Read more about this and other highlights in our Q2 2024 Impact Report: https://buff.ly/3WZYbqE
