We are excited to announce the upcoming exhibition – ‘Thom Mayne: Shaping Accident’ at L.A. Louver   On view 18 September – 26 October 2024, the exhibition is a demonstration of how technology – at the frontiers of computer language and object-creation – can reframe timeless questions at the essence of artmaking.   Featuring more than ten artworks created in 2024 and ranging in size from 24 x 24 inches to 96 x 108 inches, each piece in this new body of work is a representation of Mayne’s latest translation of concepts into physical forms. As a fusion of drawing, sculpture, and printing informed by theoretical inquiries, these artworks build upon a legacy of challenging the boundaries of medium, genre, and discipline.   The exhibition is presented in association with PST ART: Art & Science Collide, the Getty initiative uniting the creative forces of Southern California. Thank you to L.A Louver for being an official gallery participant of the program.   —   Video by Noah Rosenberg, Bend Film Productions, 2024

Celebrating over 400,000 visitors at the OCMA / Orange County Museum of Art since it opened in 2022! OCMA provides an inviting place for people of different backgrounds and generations to enjoy art in its best form—shared with others. Happy Olympics! GO USA!! In the early 2000s we joined New York City as the architect of the Olympic village for their bid for the 2012 games. Set among large green spaces, after the games the Olympic village would have provided residents of Queens, NY with a massive waterfront public park and walkable neighborhood with housing, theaters, a fitness center, and a grocery store—a valuable legacy within the density of New York. Architects are a key part of the team a city puts together to bid for the Olympics. We help demonstrate that the city has the capacity and strategy to accommodate an incredible and unusual influx of visitors, activities, and athletes. But it's also a unique opportunity to upgrade the urban fabric (with the added pressure of global attention) to benefit residents long after the games end. Olympics can be transformational for cities. Los Angeles… we’re next!

New flythrough of the future U.S. embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, currently under construction. The compound and individual buildings are designed to coexist with the desert landscape through the use of indigenous trees and plants for shade and cooling as well as the use of innovative facade materials that mitigate extreme heat and blend with the surrounding desert environment. The site’s perimeter is screened by bermed landscaping and low walls of local stone and desert plants. The outward surfaces of the buildings feature temperature modulating, earthen hues of light-colored concrete, natural stone, and metallic sun screens, interspersed by a shading canopy of palms and greenery. The working and living experience of embassy staff is a central design driver, with a focus on bringing natural light, airflow, and landscape views to workspaces, and offering a range of indoor and outdoor communal and recreation spaces. Morphosis Partner Arne Emerson notes: “By using the myriad of constraints and parameters an embassy must adhere to as design opportunities, we were able to create a compound that places people, community, health and wellness, sustainability, and the desert landscape at the center of our design while supporting the United States’ mission for diplomacy in Saudi Arabia." 5 years since the Casablanca Finance City Tower opened in Morocco—April, 2019! Comment from Morphosis and Project Partner Ung Joo Scott Lee: "Working on the first project in the Casablanca-Anfa new district was an amazing opportunity to help shape the future of the city. Seeing the neighborhood take shape around the project and Anfa Park is incredibly rewarding. It was always a goal for our team to help contribute to the growing community and we're excited to see it continue to evolve. We look forward to contributing to continuing our work in Morocco for many years to come."
