The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) is a regional educational service agency that provides a vast array of effective and efficient services that meet the educational and social service needs of Montgomery County’s 200-plus schools, including the 22 public school districts, more than 150 nonpublic schools, four career-technical schools, three charter schools, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Services are provided through nine offices: Business Services; Community and Government Relations; Executive Director; Early Childhood Services; Human Resources; Professional Learning; PaTTAN; Technology Services; Student Services. Students learn to manage essential responsibilities like financial budgeting, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean living space. Through this invaluable hands-on experience, the goal is to empower young adults to live independently, make informed decisions, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

A heartfelt thank you to Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS for visiting our Early Learning Academy for Fire Safety Day! Our students had the wonderful opportunity to learn about the vital work firefighters do, explore their equipment, get an in-depth look at a real fire truck, and understand the importance of personal safety during an emergency.
