About us
The American Red Cross Minnesota and Dakotas Region serves more than 7.5 million people. Across the United States, the Red Cross shelters, feeds and counsels victims of disasters; provides about forty percent of the nation's blood supply; teaches lifesaving skills; supports military members and their families; and reconnects families separated by disasters and conflict. The Red Cross is a charitable organization -- not a government agency -- and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its humanitarian mission. Thanks to generous volunteers, donors and partners the Red Cross is able to fulfill its humanitarian mission.

"... Within 24 hours, I was starting to see clients that were going from just that state of shock and fear to. ‘we’re going to be okay'” Duluth Red Crosser Kristy Robertson in Florida providing support and aid to displaced families. https://lnkd.in/gzTuRHsA

Cheers to all the remarkable hearts that made the Rainbowatonna Blood Drive a success! Every sleeve rolled up, every pint donated, every smile shared makes a difference. Here's to the mother/daughter duo Jen and Bri who helped plan the event and greet donors, dedicated donor John (red shirt) for hitting his two-gallon milestone, first-time donors, plus everyone who came to support. We're grateful more people can now give blood with the Red Cross through the FDA’s updated donor eligibility rules. All are welcome in the Red Cross mission! Our team member, Megan Steffer, shares an update on the Red Cross disaster relief efforts for people affected by Hurricane Helene’s catastrophic damage. Currently, the Minnesota and Dakotas Region has deployed more than 60 trained volunteers and 6 emergency response vehicles. Right now, our focus is on providing safe shelter, meals, emotional support and relief supplies for people facing unimaginable destruction across Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. Thanks WCCO & CBS News Minnesota and Esme Murphy for reporting on the mission of the Red Cross. https://lnkd.in/gtcyW2Wm

Waking up before sunrise has never been so rewarding. Our team was at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport on September 25, serving fresh coffee and pastries to our brave veterans and their guardians before they embarked on Mission 21 with the Midwest Honor Flight. Their journey to the nation's capital, a tribute to their service and sacrifices, was made even more special with the help of our early risers - Richard, Tom, Wendy, Katie, Dane and Taelyn who helped send them off with warm smiles and appreciation. We're eagerly anticipating our continued involvement in such meaningful events that honor our vets!
