  • On Friday, one day in advance, MiraVista proudly joined the global community in recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day. As we raised the flag, we also lifted the voices of those impacted by addiction, sending a powerful message: overdose is preventable, and no one is alone in their struggle. Addiction is a complex and challenging journey, but it’s one that no one has to walk alone. At MiraVista, we are deeply embedded in the community, providing a lifeline to those battling substance use disorders. Our programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals at every stage of recovery, from those just beginning to seek help to those who are maintaining long-term sobriety. Ryan Specht has been a recovery services client without relapse since 2018 in MiraVista’s Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). He is grateful for his long-term recovery on Methadone maintenance and does not hide that addiction is a disease that makes the compulsion to seek drugs a chronic struggle. “Some days are better than others, but that’s life – one day at a time,” said Ryan who does individual counseling twice a month and group counseling weekly as part of OTP. “I overdosed twice before I got clean. It’s been a pretty rocky road. I hope by sharing my story it will let others know there is light at the end of the tunnel.” Meet, Ryan and read his personal story of recovery by visiting: https://lnkd.in/eYVMhqm9 With a range of services including Medication Assisted Treatment, outpatient counseling, and long-term recovery support, MiraVista is more than a treatment center—we are a partner in health, hope, and healing. We are committed to making our community a safer, healthier place by providing accessible, compassionate addiction treatment. If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, remember that help is just a phone call away. Together, we can prevent overdose and pave the way for a brighter tomorrow. #OverdoseAwareness #AddictionRecovery #MiraVistaInTheCommunity #HopeAndHealing

  • Leading up to International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), Saturday, August 31, promoter Penington Institute suggests better education around overdose. MiraVista Behavioral Health Center’s website is among those with numerous materials including a five-minute, easy-to understand-video on the administering of naloxone to temporarily reverse an opioid overdose. The drug, which is best known as a nasal spray under the brand name Narcan, has been credited with saving thousands of lives. MiraVista is a state-approved site to distribute Narcan for free to anyone considered at high risk for an opioid overdose or knows someone who is at risk. IOAD 2024 carries the theme Together We Can to unite communities around the importance of substance use treatment and the importance of access for those needing it. Outpatient recovery support with walk-in admission at MiraVista Behavioral Health Center include for its Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). • ☕ Yesterday was nothing short of "brewtiful" at MiraVista! We teamed up with the amazing baristas from Pour Things Coffee to serve up a day filled with espresso, cortado, and cold brew, all in the name of staff appreciation! As we enjoyed on our specially crafted coffees, we were reminded of the vibrant energy and dedication that flows through our team, much like the robust flavors in each cup. Our heartfelt "thanks a latte" to all our staff who continue to brew positivity and support for each other in every sip we take! #StaffAppreciation #PourThingsCoffee #embracethechallenge #bethechange

  • We are thrilled to share that Senator John Velis has presented MiraVista Behavioral Health Center and the Public Health Institute of Western Massachusetts with a special citation from the Statehouse! This recognition honors our dedicated efforts to support adolescent mental health during the crucial summer months, when schools are out and the need for vigilance is high. Thanks to Senator Velis' unwavering support, our mission to nurture the mental well-being of our youth has received a significant boost. This citation is not simply a piece of paper; it’s a beacon of recognition for the hard work and dedication of our staff who work tirelessly to provide comprehensive care and support to our community's youth. They have embraced the challenge, and are at the heart of the changes we see among the patients in our care. Senator Velis’ commitment to mental health and his proactive stance in supporting MiraVista ensures that mental health remains a priority in our legislative agenda. We are inspired by his dedication and are more committed than ever to continue our work with even greater enthusiasm and dedication. Especially now as the school bell rings and adolescents transition to a new academic year. A huge thank you to Senator Velis and everyone at the Statehouse for this honor. Together, we are making a profound impact on the lives of young individuals in Western Massachusetts. A thank you as well to WWLP-22News Western Mass News and Turley Publications for their coverage of Senator Velis' visit.
