  • Today (Aug. 26) the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) recognizes Women’s Equality Day, which commemorates the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution granting women the right to vote. The amendment prohibits denial of the right to vote to U.S. citizens on the basis of sex. This day is significant to women Veterans who have broken many barriers within their fields to proudly serve our nation.
