Meet Samarth. He’s passionate about skating and dreams of a better future where he can read, write, and support his family to live comfortably in a house with three rooms. But the reality is, the education system available to him today isn’t enough to secure that dream or guarantee his future employability. In India, 50% of students leave school unprepared for the workforce. Our education system, focused on rote memorization and outdated methods, is failing to equip children like Samarth with the skills they need to face real-world challenges. At Micro Leaps, we exist to change that. We believe that every child deserves more than just a coin toss for their future. Our mission is to create learning experiences that foster critical thinking, creativity, and real-world problem-solving—skills that will truly prepare students for success in life and work. For children like Samarth, the future starts with a leap. It’s time to rethink education and give every child the tools to shape their own path forward. #FutureOfEducation #MicroLeaps #EmpoweringStudents #SkillsForLife #WorkforceReady Prince Jebastin | Maulika Kulkarni | Anshoo Gaur | The Circle India | Teach For India | Shrey Rawat🏞️ | Pahulmeet Singh | Arhan Shah

Learning should be an exploration of self and the world. Too often, schools view learning solely through the lens of content. But learning is far more than memorizing facts for exams. Learning is deeply human—something we do continuously, from our surroundings, often without realizing it. To reinvent schools, we first need to redefine learning. It can’t be limited to what's in a textbook or measured only by exam scores and report cards. True learning is about much more. At Micro Leaps (Previously SeekhShala), we believe that learning should be holistic, and deeply rooted in helping children understand themselves and their place in the world. We aim to empower children by giving them the knowledge, skills, and mindset to recognize the power they hold within themselves to create meaningful change. Learning that transforms can only happen through meaningful experiences. Whether it’s a 3-month project or a group challenge, we prioritize these experiences because we believe they are powerful tools for reinvention. At Micro Leaps, we believe in the power of small, intentional steps that lead to big changes. If you’re excited about reinventing learning, then get in touch. Let’s find ways to create magic together. First Who, Then What. At Micro Leaps (Previously SeekhShala), having the right people in the right roles is essential to achieving our vision of reimagining education for our children. Introducing the person who sits at the seat of Co-Founder at Micro Leaps, Maulika Kulkarni. Maulika prefers to work behind the scenes, focusing on the critical tasks needed to build a strong foundation—something she’s been deeply committed to at Micro Leaps. In our afterschool space, as we engage with children, Maulika ensures that each child has access to a safe environment filled with the resources, both people and materials, they need to thrive. As we continue to grow, it’s leaders like Maulika who lay the groundwork for what strong organizations can achieve. We’re excited for the journey ahead. SeekhShala is now Micro Leaps. We're evolving! The journey over the highest mountain begins with a single step. In the past few months, as we've worked on solidifying our foundation in this new direction, one thing has remained clear: every significant shift starts with a leap. Leaps that reignite our belief. Belief that when we empower children to take ownership of their learning, they can achieve incredible things. Belief that the future of education is driven by learners, not dictated by educators. Belief that, despite all challenges, reinventing the concept of school is within reach. To honor these leaps, we’re evolving as an organization. The first step in this evolution is our identity—our name. We are now Micro Leaps. At Micro Leaps, we believe that micro leaps lead to big shifts, and we’re committed to bringing those shifts to life. We’re thrilled to take you along on our journey of leaps. Why does SeekhShala exist? When the problem is not just a school that is neurotypical-academic centric but also insensitive to a community’s needs; not just a lack of safe-hygienic-equipped learning spaces but also ignorant of the job market trends and financial burdens; not just tired uninspired teachers but also zero trauma-informed learning; when the problem is not just that 57% of Grade 5 students cannot read a Grade 2 text but also that schools are designed to recycle students from low-income backgrounds into low income communities through low income jobs - when you can’t choose which of a hundred problems to solve in the school, the solution becomes to redesign “the school”. To make it accommodative of each child’s needs, to support the child from the day they step into the school to the day they have to re-enter the world, where privilege does not shield them from battles they must fight. SeekhShala seeks to be a redesigned ecosystem that envisions an adult able and capable of making free choices, unlimited by any restrictions their backgrounds may impose on them. Learning is experiential. We've all encountered learning as a passive endeavor. Sit at a desk, read, write, repeat. But envision learning as an active journey, with students taking the reins of their own experience. We facilitated a similar learning experience for the students at The Panaah Communities. Over the last 2 months, these students delved into a project centered around a fundamental inquiry: "How can we establish a profitable food stall?" Along the way, they explored interconnected math concepts like profit and loss, ratios, and integers. In their quest to answer this question, their time was allocated to various activities: 1) Conducting market research to decipher the secrets of successful food stalls. This involved interviewing various vendors to grasp the intricacies of the supply and demand chain. 2) Participating in a masterclass led by Sayed Mohammad Shoeb, focusing on crafting business plans and budgeting for their stalls. 3) Engaging in prototyping their products and actively seeking feedback. 4) Culminating in the selling phase at SHOUTT- Show Us The Talent, where every group managed to turn a profit at their respective stalls. Beyond just mathematics or profitability, what truly stood out was their remarkable collaboration, critical thinking, and confidence. While these values can be taught in a classroom, it's the opportunity to put them into practice that truly integrates them into one's core values. This project reaffirmed a core belief at SeekhShala™️: that learning is most effective when it's hands-on, and the responsibility for learning should be entrusted to the students themselves. #RedesignSchool #learningbydoing #projectbasedlearning

Learning is a personal endeavor. Learning in school has often looked the same. A class of 40 students, a 45-minute slot, one teacher, same instructions, same questions, same time of completion. But learning is not a standard experience, it's a deeply personal journey, influenced by what we like, what our strengths are, our learning style and so many other factors. We believe at SeekhShala that it is our job as educators to make learning personal to each child. Personal in a way that supports the needs of every child and caters to their interests. This starts from the day students step foot into the school, i.e. Kindergarten. We believe creating this personalized learning experience will be a work of collaboration. So, here’s a call to passionate early childhood educators out there who have worked with low-income communities and schools. If you’re passionate about early childhood education and want to redesign what learning can look like in the kindergarten and elementary stages. Reach out, let's connect and collaborate. SeekhShala is registered! A fundamental belief about learning we hold at SeekhShala is that learning is a personal endeavor. Every child learns differently because every child IS different. Holding that belief at our core, at SeekhShala we aspire to build redesigned schools. - Schools where students can customize learning and make it personal. - Schools where curriculum connects to their community. - Schools where students lead learning. The north star is clear. When students lead learning in schools, they become adults who lead their lives with choice and that’s the future we want to shape for the children we work with. A life of choice. Towards that vision, we have exciting news! SeekhShala is now a registered Section 8 company. This is our first step towards our north star, and we are on the path. We’re excited about this journey and grateful for all the people who have supported us this far and for all the supporters we hope to find on the way. ------------------------- Reach out to us if you want to know more about our work and be on this journey with us as our supporters.
