“Ainadamar is a near masterpiece by the Argentine composer [Osvaldo Golijov], and the production and performances are so stunning that they threaten to spoil the audience for the rest of the season.” —Financial Times We couldn’t agree more. Everyone loves Deborah Colker’s dramatic production of Osvaldo Golijov and librettist David Henry Hwang’s Ainadamar. Don’t miss out on mezzo-soprano Daniela Mack’s powerful portrayal of Federico García Lorca, opposite soprano Angel Blue as Margarita Xirgu. Miguel Harth-Bedoya conducts. Ainadamar is on stage through November 9. Book your tickets: bit.ly/4cpHb1B Photo by Marty Sohl / Met Opera #MetOpera #Flamenco #Drama #Dance #Opera #Spanish #ClassicalMusic #Romance #NYC #meetopera

We’ve got exciting news!🎉 After six years of incredible artistic partnership, the Met is thrilled to announce that Maestro Nezet-Seguin will continue as the company’s Jeanette Lerman-Neubauer Music Director through the 2029–30 season. A tireless champion of new work and a master of opera’s classic staples, Maestro Nézet-Séguin will extend an extraordinary relationship with the Met that has already produced some of the brightest moments in company history. And, beginning with the 2027–28 season, he and the Met will embark on the ultimate collaboration between a conductor and an opera company: an exhilarating new staging of Wagner’s Ring cycle, directed by Yuval Sharon and starring soprano Lise Davidsen as Brünnhilde, a project that will culminate in full cycles in spring 2030. Here’s to many more years of exceptional musicmaking together! For more information and highlights of Maestro Nézet-Séguin’s future Met projects, visit bit.ly/3WTIuBo
