Take a look at some moments from the panel event that wrapped up the celebrations for Sean Elliott’s 25th transplant anniversary last week! The panel covered health and wellness topics and stories of Sean's battle with his severe kidney disease during the 1999 NBA playoffs when the Spurs won their first National Basketball Association (NBA) Championship. We are grateful to the fantastic panel participants —Sean, Noel, Dr. Francis Wright, Sean's transplant surgeon, and RC Buford, CEO of Spurs Sports & Entertainment and former Spurs General Manager at the time of Sean's transplant. We were honored to support Spurs Give's initiatives through a donation in honor of Sean's transplant anniversary. Thank you to all who made this event possible!

August 16 was a full day of celebration, honoring Spurs legend Sean Elliott's 25th kidney transplant anniversary! The Silver Jubilee to honor Sean kicked off at Methodist Hospital | Specialty and Transplant, where he received a life-saving kidney transplant thanks to the generosity of his older brother, Noel Elliott, on August 16, 1999, after the National Basketball Association (NBA) season ended. Thanks to the expertise of his transplant team, Sean later returned to basketball and became the first player to return to the NBA after a kidney transplant. The day of festivities ended with a donation from Methodist Healthcare to Spurs Give and a panel that featured Sean, Noel, Dr. Francis Wright - Sean’s transplant surgeon, and RC Buford - CEO of Spurs Sports & Entertainment and former Spurs General Manager at the time of Sean’s transplant. Today, Sean and his wife Claudia serve as Health Ambassadors for Methodist Healthcare, using their platform and Sean's transplant story to encourage the community to become organ donors, educate people on the importance of health, and provide hope to those facing an organ transplant or health challenge. Register to become an organ donor to make a life-saving difference in the community. Visit sahealth.com/donatelife to learn how. #gospursgo #donatelife #organdonation #sanantoniospurs
