We are especially privileged to receive this national honor a few months after being named Health System of the Year by Press Ganey. 

Methodist Dallas and Methodist Health System employees packed two SUVs full of school supplies to donate to Hogg New Tech Elementary School in Oak Cliff. The donation will help teachers and students launch the new school year. Any supplies they don't need now will go into the school's supply closet, which families and teachers can use throughout the year. Smart move!

The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD welcomed the district's incoming educators at the annual New Teacher Luncheon. Methodist Southlake welcomed them, too. Sponsoring the Adopt-A-Teacher segment, we surprised the guests of honor with goody bags to help them kick off their school year. Elevating educators lifts the whole community!

Methodist Midlothian targeted men's health with axes — wait, what? The hospital hosted a friendly game at a local axe-throwing venue and used the event to educate residents about the three leading causes of death in men. Benjamin Lo, MD, medical director of the emergency department, and Michael Turchiaro, DO, emergency medicine physician, talked about how preventive health and safer habits can lower the risk of accidents. Jacob Rhodes, RN, emergency department manager, highlighted the hospital's service lines. Nice aim, guys!

It’s been a great summer for the junior volunteers at Methodist Richardson. They worked alongside adult volunteers, helped in the surgical waiting area, took care of personal protective equipment, and sold popcorn for their scholarship program. Many young volunteers get a taste of the healthcare environment and go on to become medical professionals. We see healthy futures ahead!

Methodist Southlake teamed up with the Trophy Club Fire Department to teach CPR to the staff of a local restaurant. The employees were motivated to learn CPR after a customer went into cardiac arrest earlier this year. Last year, the hospital held its first EMS Conference at the restaurant. This year, employees themselves got to learn how to save a life. We love that!

Methodist Charlton kicked off its Legislative Breakfast Series with state Sen. Royce West and U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett slated to speak. The annual event, a collaboration with the Best Southwest Partnership, allows policymakers, educators, and healthcare leaders to discuss how legislation affects their decision-making. Our leaders, President Michael Stewart and Chief Nursing Officer Jeremy Taylor, were there to contribute their wisdom.

Leaders from Methodist Dallas shared their stories with undergraduates from UNT Dallas, Texas A&M, and UT Arlington. These students are part of ScholarShot, a program that supports and awards scholarships to first-generation college students. Our panelists talked about the career paths that led each one to Methodist. The young participants who listened may be tomorrow's healthcare leaders!
