Exciting news from MercyOne Iowa Heart Center! 🎉 On July 24, Dr. David Chew, vascular surgeon, and our expert team performed Iowa's first commercial GORE® EXCLUDER® Thoracoabdominal Branch Endoprosthesis (TAMBE) procedure. This groundbreaking, minimally invasive technique for treating thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms and high-risk pararenal aortic aneurysms has just moved from clinical trials to real-world application. Unlike traditional methods, TAMBE allows us to address aneurysms involving vessels connected to internal organs without open surgery. This means a reduced risk of life-threatening complications and faster recovery times for our patients.
