Truly AMAZING! Over 50 Years ago this "Prototype" FULL-SCALE Space Shuttle was built by NASA for the design of the Columbia Space Shuttle. It has been in storge until the City of Downey City Council approved it being moved to the Columbia Memorial Space Center facilities under the careful hands of DUNKEL BROS (MEI) recently. The historic “Inspiration” Space Shuttle mock-up was on the move through Downey, California, after more than a decade in storage! Dunkel Bros. Machinery Moving, An MEI Company, was tasked with transporting the 122-foot-long shuttle, piece by piece, through the city to a renovation facility for restoration.
