One common misconception is that compliance standards in healthcare settings reflect best practices or an ideal state. In reality, these are baseline standards a facility should meet (read: bare minimum). There is always room for improvement. Building a culture of compliance is best accomplished when leaders communicate the 'WHY' behind procedures. “Because The Joint Commission said so” isn’t a good why. “Ensuring every patient, clinician, and visitor you see is safe” is better. Kathy Neal, CHFM, CHOP-A, Director of Regulatory Compliance at Medxcel, shares more on building a culture of compliance in the article below. Heart disease claims more lives in the U.S. than all forms of cancer and chronic lower respiratory disease combined, and chances are someone you know has been impacted. For Jordan Hanover PCM Digital Marketing, CDMP, Digital Marketing Specialist at Medxcel, that someone was his mom who underwent open heart surgery in 2019 to repair a genetic heart defect that became crippling as she got older. "Someone can be going through life with a heart condition they’re unaware of, until it takes over their whole life. I watched my mom go from a vibrant woman to a hollow shell, and it was devastating. I’m walking to help those with no quality of life regain control of theirs again." This Saturday, September 21, #WHYWEWALK during the Indianapolis Heart Walk is to support the American Heart Association’s lifesaving mission. Every walker who joins and every dollar donated means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research investment, and more lives saved. Learn more and donate here: medxcel.link/heartwalk

Disfunction, mistakes, and wasteful spending in facilities management often stem from disconnected teams, systems, and processes. It’s why we consolidate facilities management into one united team. “I’ve learned that everything everyone does in a healthcare facility impacts other teams in some way. I’ve really learned the value of cross-collaboration — the results our clients experience are unmatched.” - Brandon Quigley MBA, CHFM, CHSP, National Director of Operations Learn more about how Medxcel consolidates facilities management here: https://lnkd.in/gGp2zBdi #transformativehealthcare #healthcareleaders #facilitiesmanagement #facilitiesservices

High-performing healthcare facilities management demands constant learning, challenging conventional practices, and adapting solutions to evolving conditions. One way we nurture these practices is by seeking out new perspectives from peers across the industry. Last month, Medxcel's Michael Wood, SASHE, CHC, MSM, Brandon Quigley MBA, CHFM, CHSP, and Andrew Fairbank sought to do that as presenters, panelists and attendees at the Health Care Facilities Innovation Conference, hosted by American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE). Click the link to our blog below to read their takeaways, and where they see opportunities in our industry.
