The Hilton Garden Inn & Homewood Suites Tampa Westshore had the opportunity to attend the Inaugural Hillsborough Rose Awards presented by the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA) that took place on October 3rd, 2024. The awards celebrate and honor nominated hotel staff members who have gone above & beyond in their roles. Four McKibbon Hospitality employees were nominated for their hard work and dedication: Lead Cook David Forney, Housekeeper & Assistant Executive Guadalupe Corcho, Front Desk Associate Bernardo Fuentes and Server Holly Palfy. Ending the week on a high note with (CK) Patel, our McKibbon Hospitality Operations Support Manager/acting GM, who wore a different color wig each day, thanks to the team's impressive achievement of raising $850 for the Pelotonia Cancer Research Fund (surpassing the $500 goal). We had an incredible learning experience at Home2 and Hampton Inn by Hilton in Tampa Downtown Channel District as part of the McKibbon Corporate Learning Program. We are extremely proud to announce that our Vendor Relations Specialist, Blake Epstein, has been selected for HOTEL MANAGEMENT Magazine’s 2024 30 Under 30 class! Blake was one of just 30 young industry professionals selected for this honor, recognizing her immense rising talent and dedication to the hospitality field. In her current role, Blake assists with the procurement program compliance for McKibbon's portfolio of 100+ hotels, maintaining relationships with key suppliers and acting as a liaison between management disciplines, property level staff and vendors. Congratulations, Blake, on this well-deserved recognition!

Today, Lauren Bowles, our Vice President of Communications, is celebrating 10 years with McKibbon Hospitality! Lauren manages all aspects of McKibbon’s communications and marketing efforts, ensuring that everything we put out into the world reflects our mission and core values. Beyond overseeing McKibbon’s brand, Lauren also oversees community relations and charitable giving through the McKibbon Hospitality Foundation. We are so grateful to have Lauren as a core part of the McKibbon family!

It’s been a challenging few weeks. Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton brought widespread and devastating impacts to our communities in the Southeastern U.S., impacting many of our hotels and valued McKibbon associates. We cannot stress enough how proud we are of our hotel teams for their leadership, dedication and resilience leading up to, during, and following these storms. For many, our properties served as a safe haven and our teams a comforting presence during a time of stress and uncertainty – a true testament to their unwavering hospitality and spirit to serve others. We are also grateful for the continued outpouring of support and assistance we have received from our owners, partners and fellow McKibbon colleagues, allowing us to help connect our impacted associates with much-needed relief and support. We are excited to welcome Marie Haidara, Ilayda Zeynep Niyet and Ahmad Motwali, three graduate students from the USF School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, who will be participating in the McKibbon Cooperative Learning Program for the 2024-2025 school year. Over the next two semesters, they will be shadowing our Tampa hotel leaders and corporate support team, immersing themselves in hands-on experiences, real-world scenarios and projects that will complement their studies and prepare them for their future hospitality careers.
