We recently joined UCLA Health and HOK at the 2024 Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo to discuss the exciting progress on our UCLA Neuropsychiatric Replacement Hospital project. The session highlighted how the progressive design-build model drove innovation, collaboration, and efficiency on this OSHPD-5 behavioral health project in Southern California. Having moved around the country six times to support more than $1.1 billion in work across 15 different water projects, Vice President of Operations Patrick Payne has demonstrated an unwavering commitment and passion for McCarthy’s participation in increasing and improving water infrastructure nationwide. For this reason, Pat has been recognized as a member of Engineering News-Record’s 2025 Class of Top Young Professionals. Upon graduating from college, Pat received his first assignment at the City of Phoenix’s Deer Valley Water Treatment Plant. Now, 16 years later, Pat has found a love for the water industry’s technical nature and the level of strategy required to maintain full plant operations on active projects. As we wrap up #ConstructionInclusionWeek, our CEO Ray Sedey shared his thoughts on the continued momentum of the movement and the importance of inclusion strategies that foster innovation, resilience and the future of work. 

Our project team reached the significant milestone of completing the structural phase of the Women's Health Pavilion at Hoag's Sun Family Campus in Irvine. We celebrated the milestone with a topping off ceremony and jobsite lunch to recognize and appreciate the amazing work accomplished by our entire team. The state-of-the-art Women's Health Pavilion will offer comprehensive care facilities, including 24 Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum Suites and a 17-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The pavilion will also feature specialized rooms for postpartum and antepartum care, advanced C-Section delivery suites, and OB Emergency triage rooms to ensure complete maternal and newborn care.
