What a great WakeUp! Midland event today, from the Midland Business Alliance. Our very own Kevin LaDuke took the stage with Mayor Maureen Donker and Jason Story to discuss talent attraction and retention. I’m so proud to live in a community where so many people care deeply and work tirelessly to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Are things perfect? Of course not. But are we doing our best to connect people with what they need? Absolutely. All of this work is done through the lens of love—because we love Midland and all the people who live here. 💛
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the November WakeUp! Midland at The Great Hall! We engaged in a powerful discussion on talent attraction and retention, emphasizing the importance of welcoming people from all backgrounds into our community. With our ongoing efforts and those of Max Loves Midland, we’re excited to drive this vision forward. We also took time to honor our local veterans with a slideshow of those who have served in our business community that played at the beginning and middle. Along with a presentation by the honor guard by the veterans coalition. At WakeUp! Midland, we aim to help you build valuable connections while advancing Midland’s vision: An inclusive community. Together. Forward. Bold. A place where everyone can thrive. Events like this are essential for fostering meaningful conversations around talent attraction and retention, just as we did today. Don’t forget to like, tag, and share your photos as a memento of the event! We’ll be sharing more pictures next week, so stay tuned. We hope you enjoyed connecting with others, and we look forward to seeing you and your friends at our holiday-themed WakeUp! Midland on December 6th at The Great Hall!

“If we want a more welcoming, kinder world, then shouldn’t it start by at least knowing who lives next door? How can we expect countries to get along if we can’t even say hello and call the person by name who shares our lot line? How do you cross borders if you can’t even cross the street?” -Joyce Hagen-Flint Read Joyce’s story on our website and stay tuned for the full episode on The Max Loves Midland show this Wednesday! 💛 https://lnkd.in/g8YvJMHV #MaxLovesMidland #MidlandMi

New in stories. 💛 Accomplishing What Matters 6: Collective Accomplishments through Partnerships and Volunteering, by Kathy Dollard Psy.D., L.P. of MyMichigan Health. MyMichigan Health works hard to form partnerships to provide education, programming and support for residents across their service areas. In fact, these partnerships are integral to make meaningful, positive impact and help them carry out their Purpose of “Creating Healthy Communities – Together.” One such partnership involves a collaboration with Midland County Educational Service Agency and Community Mental Health for Central Michigan to form the Midland County Pediatric Partnership. Its goal is to help care for children with autism and their families. On Thursday, Sept. 26, the Pediatric Partnership held “Parents Night Out” at the Longview Early Childhood Development Center. This initiative provided 16 children with autism a fun, safe environment filled with activities, games, and snacks, all supervised by volunteers from the partner organizations, along with assistance from the Midland Wellbeing Coalition. During this time, parents were invited to enjoy a couple of hours to themselves to do whatever they wished, knowing their kids were in good hands.
