About us
The Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is a self-supporting public non-profit organization that works with state government and with business, civic and community leaders to increase the supply of affordable housing across the Commonwealth. MHP uses funds from the banking industry to provide long-term loans for affordable rental housing. Since 1990, MHP has provided over $1 billion in loans and commitments for the financing of over 22,000 units of rental housing. MHP also helps communities build affordable housing and has provided technical assistance in over 300 Massachusetts communities. MHP's first-time homebuyer programs -- formerly SoftSecond and now ONE Mortgage -- have helped over 18,600 low- and moderate-income families purchase their first home with over $3 billion in private financing.

In June, Jane Petrie joined us as a Corcoran Center for Real Estate and Urban Action Summer Intern. Jane is a rising senior at Boston College, where she's pursuing a Business major and is a member of BC's Division 1 Varsity Women's Volleyball team. Jane kicked off her summer with us by attending our two-day Housing Institute in Worcester and then spearheaded an executive summary of the event, offering insights and recommendations to enhance future events. Then, she headed to Provincetown to attend a groundbreaking ceremony and visit several affordable housing developments in the area. She finished up her time with the Community Assistance team with much-appreciated support for their 3A work. Jane then headed down the hall to Rental Financing where she supported our green housing and transit-oriented development initiatives before participating in a site visit to evaluate a 40B project. Jane says, "My summer experience provided me with valuable insights into housing challenges and financial mechanisms, contributing to my growth in real estate and community development." Thanks for all of your work this summer, Jane! We can't wait to see what your future holds. Megan Mulcahy Mark Curtiss Laura Shufelt
