To mark this milestone, we asked our Founder & CEO Ayeshah Abuelhiga to reflect on what 10 years in business means to her and our team, here's what she had to say: “Ten years ago, we started a little pop up restaurant in hopes to change how people ate the food they craved the most. We wanted to start a restaurant empire that focused on scratch ingredients, quality hand-crafted recipes, and hospitality that made you feel good about being your best self. Never did I imagine that we would achieve this dream NOT in a sit-down restaurant, but through the freezer doors and warmers in thousands of retailers, hotels, kiosks, and homes. Thanks to your support and the love of all our partners and friends, we are making people feel good about the food they crave wherever they crave it – whether that’s at their local grocer, at their favorite hotel, their local coffee shop, or in the comforts of their own home…you did this. Mason Dixie Foods had the pleasure of participating in Plated 2 with the The Franciscan Center of Baltimore and Dignity Plates Culinary Training Academy - a local #baltimore based organization we continue to support. As a nonprofit whose work hits home to our Founder and CEO’s upbringing, the organization puts on this annual event to raise charitable donations for the Center’s programming - which includes providing access to nutritionally dense food to those in need and giving those in need of access to education in the culinary arts a fast track to success in the #foodandbeverageindustry. Our CEO Ayeshah Abuelhiga held the keynote where she highlighted the importance of being in Baltimore, #giving, and #access being critical to providing social and economic equity to our challenged local populations. She also judged a dish competition whereby Dignity Plates Culinary Training Academy alumni competed for cash prizes to help start their businesses. We are honored to continue to support the center and had a blast! Congrats to everyone for holding such a successful event!
