Last night I had the opportunity to experience a tour of a very haunted warehouse in the Docklands, courtesy of Maples Teesdale LLP and our corporate partners Museum of London. Thankfully we have departed signifcantly from the 18th century legal justice system! #MaplesTeesdaleLLP #MuseumofLondon

We are looking forward to being part of Movers & Shakers Property Networking Forum London breakfast on November 21st 2024 on The Future of UK Retail Assets. Anastasia Klein will be on the panel alongside Ellen Peters of LUSH, Allan Lockhart of NewRiver REIT, Susannah Walker of Make Space for Girls, Pablo Sueiras of Landsec, James Rayner of Related Argent, Louise Duggan of Greater London Authority and Mark Stansfield of CoStar UK. Following the decline in physical stores that accompanied the advent of online shopping, further decimation of the then retail dominated high streets and town centres was further driven by covid, with a significant drop in footfall, financial losses, and empty buildings. Fast forward to 2024, and there is ‘a renewed sense of optimism’ felt by both investors and owners of UK retail assets and retailers / occupiers. A clear transformation is taking place as many UK high streets and town centres are experiencing the positive effects of urban renewal, and previously closed stores are being replaced by leisure, entertainment, hospitality, as well as housing and healthcare assets. This ‘blended use class’ model is creating a new norm, that is enticing people back to these locations, creating opportunities for development and investment, and in the process reinvigorating places and delivering community benefits. Join us on November 21st for a high informative morning, with a UK Retail Markets Insights presentation and a panel of experts to discuss ‘The Future of UK Retail Assets’. #commercialrealestate #retail #retailrealestate #retailsector #occupiers #retailers #highstreets https://lnkd.in/eqisPge4

Annie Sahakian - Competition pushes lenders to lower their prices If you want a lower margin, now may be the time. According to the most recent Commercial Real Estate Lending Report from Bayes Business School, there is growing competition among lenders in the UK commercial real estate sector, which is leading to cuts in loan pricing in order to secure the limited transactions that are available. Prime assets owned by quality sponsors are becoming more appealing due to their scarcity. Despite a decrease in the number of new loans made in the first half of 2024, the lower volumes gave some borrowers more negotiation leverage and enabled them to secure more favourable financing terms. #commercialrealestate #propertyfinance #realestatefinance #loans #loanmargins #loantovalue #ukrealestate

It's World Menopause Day today... Here's a flashback to our brilliant "Men for Men-opause" event with Kate Usher - Speaker/Trainer/Coach/Consultant Sharing some key takeaways from the event as summarised by our attendee Joanna Coben-Scott CLDP: 👉🏻 Menopause is an “everybody” issue. It impacts individuals, managers, colleagues, partners, family members. 👉🏻Menopause is inevitable, unique and variable. It is not the same for everyone experiencing it. 👉🏻We need to embrace open and honest conversation to really create change. 👉🏻Collate and use Data to look at trends and challenges. 👉🏻 Menopause doesn’t last for ever. Don’t overlook those going through the menopause because when they are through it, they are formidable and a huge asset 🦸 Let's continue to break the stigma and create supportive environments for everyone impacted by menopause. Whether you're experiencing it, managing a team, or supporting a loved one—let's keep the conversation going. What changes do you think we can make to better support those going through menopause? 💬👇 #WorldMenopauseDay #MenopauseAwareness #InclusiveWorkplace
