A little over a year ago, a significant milestone was reached as the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections (PUMP) for Nursing Mothers and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) were passed in a bipartisan Omnibus bill. These pivotal legislations grant crucial federal workplace protections to expecting or recent mothers, ensuring that workplaces prioritize the well-being of these dedicated workers. While we celebrate these important steps forward, it's vital to acknowledge that pregnancy and lactation go beyond mere physical aspects. Mental health during this transformative phase of life is equally paramount. At MamaZen, we are committed to supporting the mental health of working mothers. Our app, powered by cognitive hypnotherapy and mindfulness, provides sessions, tools, and resources to help parents overcome burnout and anxiety, break generational cycles, and be more mindful throughout their parenting journey. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management SHRM, which has been at the forefront of championing these laws. At the annual INCLUSION conference last October, SHRM led an insightful panel discussion on how HR professionals can ensure compliance with PUMP and PWFA while providing support to their valued employees. As part of our collaboration, SHRM and MamaZen have created an easy-to-use resource aimed at helping HR professionals navigate the rights and obligations established by these two groundbreaking laws, with a strong focus on mental well-being. Knowledge is power, and we are here to empower HR teams to create more supportive, inclusive, and thriving workplaces, addressing both physical and mental health needs. You can explore the resource here: https://lnkd.in/evpXdhv9 The passage of PUMP and PWFA represents a significant step forward in our mission to make workplaces more supportive and inclusive for millions of working moms, acknowledging that pregnancy and lactation encompass both physical and mental aspects. Together, we are building a brighter future for all. 💪🏽 #WorkingMoms #MamaZen #Progress #InclusiveWorkplaces #MentalHealthMatters #PUMP #PWFA
When Congress works together, progress is possible! One year ago, the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections (PUMP) for Nursing Mothers and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA) were passed in a bi-partisan Omnibus bill. This vital legislation grants federal workplace protections to expecting or recent mothers in the workplace. PUMP and PWFA ensure workplaces prioritize the mental and physical well-being of workers who are pregnant or have recently given birth. Back in October, at the annual INCLUSION conference, SHRM led a panel that discussed at length how HR professionals can ensure compliance of PUMP and PWFA and support their workers. To aid those efforts, SHRM has partnered with MamaZen to create an easy-to-use resource that helps HR professionals learn about the rights and obligations created by these two laws. https://lnkd.in/dXAs9Je7 The passage of these laws has ushered in pivotal changes for millions of working moms, and are an important part of creating more supportive and inclusive, thriving workplaces.
