EEC joined Governor Healey, Secretary Tutwiler, and Early Ed Board Chair Paul Belsito and Vice-Chair Maria Gonzalez Moeller this week at Community Teamwork in Lowell to see their Head Start preschool classrooms and celebrate the game-changing success of C3. Massachusetts has made these federal pandemic era stabilization grants permanent - the only state in the nation to continue funding them for providers at the same level as the federal government. With the continuation of this program, the state is investing in a system that is more accessible and affordable for all families. #ChildCare #Policy #EarlyEducation #News

We are deeply honored and grateful to be awarded $500,000 in capital funding! This generous support will allow us to renovate our facilities and continue providing essential early education. Thank you, Massachusetts Department of Early Education & Care for investing in the future of our community!
At East Boston Social Centers, Commissioner Kershaw and Secretary Tutwiler announced that 20 organizations across Massachusetts are being awarded $8.5 million in capital funding to renovate early education and out-of-school time program facilities. Thanks for joining us, Director of Outdoor Recreation Paul Jahnige, Senator Sal DiDomenico, and Rep. Adrian Madaro! This investment will support renovation projects to expand capacity and improve the indoor and outdoor quality and accessibility of learning environments for children, ensuring they have safe, healthy, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate spaces to learn, play, and grow. As part of the Administration's whole-of-government approach to addressing climate change, and in collaboration with the Climate Office, projects were prioritized that focused on clean energy and decarbonization. Projects that included security enhancements to prevent and respond to potential threats, such as active shooters and installation of security cameras and access control systems, were also prioritized. A total of $8.5 Million in new child care capital awards were granted to 20 organizations across the Commonwealth to improve the facilities so that children continue to learn, play, and grow. The Alliance was present to cheer for the YMCA of Greater Boston, YMCA of Central Massachusetts, and Greater Holyoke YMCA who received this year's award. “I am grateful for our partnership with the federal government and the strong alignment with the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to build a more accessible, modern, affordable, and equitable child care system that includes the critical role of our Head Start programs. With sufficient funding available, these changes will have a meaningful impact on Head Start programs in our state, the families and children they serve, and our entire child care system.” - Commissioner Kershaw The Healey-Driscoll Administration applauds the Biden-Harris Administration’s final Head Start rule: https://lnkd.in/esWyS6g4 #HeadStart #News #ChildCare

“It was an honor to join Governor Healey today as she signed the FutureTech Act. The administration has made transformative changes to child care financial assistance over the last year and a half that this investment will build upon, accelerating our efforts to create a safe, multilingual, mobile-friendly and simpler technology system. This is a win for children, families, and our child care providers.” - AK Learn more about the FutureTech Act: https://lnkd.in/dspgJsjZ
