He is a University of Miami graduate with a Master’s from UCLA and is the principal of DNA Architecture + Design, an award-winning design practice dedicated to producing contextually aware, community-centered work that emphasizes human experience. Today on #MadameArchitect: Clare Miflin, a circular-systems thinker with over twenty years of experience as an architect. Positing waste as a design flaw, Clare envisions a future without garbage, where urban systems are woven into ecosystems. In 2017, she led the development of the Zero Waste Design Guidelines. She now leads both the Center for Zero Waste Design, a nonprofit that develops research, advocacy campaigns and policy tools, and ThinkWoven, a consultancy that applies zero waste design strategies to buildings, neighborhoods and cities. We are kicking off the #MadameArchitect fall line-up with Elizabeth Roberts Architects' founder, Elizabeth Roberts, AIA. Elizabeth began her solo practice in 1998, after completing her graduate studies in Historic Preservation at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation and her undergraduate studies in architecture at the University of California, Berkeley. A native of Northern California, she established her New York City-based firm, ERA, in 2016 and now oversees a practice that includes new building, restoration, and renovation projects, as well as furniture and product design. Today on #MadameArchitect: Radha Mistry, the Americas Region Foresight Leader at Arup. Radha also teaches futures studies in the Master of Architecture programs at SCI-Arc, and spends most of her time exploring the impact of emerging drivers and how they’ll change the way we design and make things in the future. Most recently, Radha established the Foresight practice at Autodesk and taught speculative design on the Design MBA program at California College of the Arts, and Parsons (The New School) MFA Transdisciplinary Design program.
