It was an honor to host Gabby Giffords, former Congresswoman, gun control activist, and CEO of GIFFORDS Center for Violence Intervention, for a lunch with Chicago's local Community Violence Intervention (CVI) leaders to discuss how national and local CVI efforts can work together toward safer communities. Among the organizations in attendance were UChicago Medicine Trauma Center, Metropolitan Peace Initiatives, and Partnership for Safe and Peaceful Communities.
