I'm regularly asked: "how do I get to the next level?" and overcome both self-limiting beliefs and company/systemic challenges to make career progress? Here's my answer: I think it takes some unflinching self-examination and introspection. It takes seeking out targeted feedback on what you're doing now and need to start doing to move ahead. It takes a plan to do things differently -- so you get different (and better) results. Sometimes, it's realizing the place you are now will >never< see you the way you want them to, and you're going to need to jump. And it always (ALWAYS!) takes support and encouragement from forward-looking and like-minded people who will root you on, kick your butt, and pick you up when you fall.
