The support of our donors this year (2024) allowed us to make great strides in reaching our goal of opening our school in 2025. Are you interested in traveling to Kenya for our school opening in 2025!? Contact [email protected] by November 1st to secure your spot for our January volunteer trip! Since we began our project in Awasi, we have created jobs for over 200 adults in Kenya. Male and female, Hearing impaired. Various ages - young and old. Skilled Laborers - masons, plumbers, electricians, tile fixers. Vendors - suppliers of sand, stones, bricks, water, hardware, food. This past year... ✨We installed light fixtures, toilets, and urinals. Enclosed the staircase and completed interior and exterior painting. We made updates to the restrooms and windows. Added ramps to our classrooms for children with special needs ✨We formed our school’s Board of Directors - selected our school headmaster and deputy headmaster (principal and vice principal). ✨We interviewed several candidates for our teaching and non-teaching staff. We gave out offer letters to 4 teachers, 3 cooks, 4 cleaning personnel, 1 secretary and 1 groundsman. ✨Our Director of Child Sponsorship interviewed the families of over 150 orphaned and vulnerable children to identify those eligible to be enrolled in our school. It is our hope to find Child Sponsors to match with 60 students we hope to enroll in 2025. All their profiles will be shared very soon! Please consider becoming a Child Sponsor for $50/month so we can enroll each child we identified who are in need. Our Awasi School project is a source of hope and opportunity for orphaned and vulnerable children to break the cycle of poverty. Thank you for creating this hope. For creating this opportunity. You are the reason these children will not only survive, but thrive! Thank you for making a positive impact in the lives of our future students, their families and their community. 💙
