Creating a new reality with holograms and conversational AI.

About us

Founded in 2014, Looking Glass Factory Inc is headquartered in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with additional operations in Hong Kong. In 2018 the company launched the world's first desktop holographic display dev kit; in 2019, started shipping the world's first 8K light field display; and in 2020, launched Looking Glass Portrait, a personal holographic display. Yeah, we really love holograms. Today, Looking Glass Factory is building a world in which everyone from LiDAR photographers to Unity developers to Fortune 500 companies can leave Flatland and enter the third dimension. Welcome to the (holographic) future.

Introducing: In Depth! ✨ Today, we’re taking another step forward in our mission to unlock the magic of 3D for everyone with our new content series: In Depth! 🥳 “In Depth” is designed to complement the content we’re currently sharing across our blogs, social media, and community. This series aims to empower individuals at all levels of expertise, serving as an open invitation to join us in exploring all things 3D. As new and exciting topics arise, we’ll sit down with members of the Looking Glass team (and maybe a few special guests!) for conversations that explore these key 3D concepts *in depth* (😉). In the first episode, Nikki and Missy break down a recent blog post on capturing real-world holograms. They'll guide you through the history of the tech, its significance in today's 3D landscape, and share how you can start capturing the world around you in 3D for Looking Glass today! Tune in on YouTube (🔗 below) and let us know what you think! 💬✨

Ahoy folks! @jo_seitz , @ijkwxyz , and yours truly are debuting an interactive installation powered by our collective imaginations and Looking Glass. It'll be showcased at the Gray Area Grand Theater courtesy of the CODAME Festival for the whole month! You'll get to play with my beloved Purrsephone whilst interacting with lovely shaders and Android Jones artwork, not to mention other dazzling works on display. 🤓 Opening night is tomorrow but you'll still have the 17th and 30th to see us in person. You'll find me running around with my very own Looking Glass Go over my shoulder. Thank you one and all for coming out or even sending supportive vibes. 🙏 https://lu.ma/fd6drrgh #mixedreality #hologram #artshow #codame #grayarea #sanfrancisco #interactiveart #nomadsculpt

"With Looking Glass displays, my dream of showcasing my volumetric work in its native volumetric format is what excites me. Previously, VR was the only way, but with Looking Glass, I can create a little diorama of a real place and showcase it to anyone in the room. It's truly magical." ✨ Next up in the spotlight of our creator feature is 3D photogrammetry artist Azad Balabanian! Fueled by his passion for capturing the world in 3D, Azad walks us through his creative journey and the evolving world of volumetric photography. His love of creating immersive, three-dimensional experiences and his innovative approach to creating content displayed on Looking Glass make this a must-read for anyone! Link in the comments ⬇️

Last week, we teamed up with POWRPLNT to host a workshop led by Ellie MacQueen! ✨ Our guests dove into an interactive crash course, where 3D experts guided them through turning 2D art into holograms, bringing their digital designs to life on Looking Glass displays with Blender. 💻 We believe the future of 3D is for everyone, and we’re excited to help make that vision a reality—because holograms are better when shared. 🌐 Big thanks to all the attendees who joined us and to everyone who helped make this event happen!
