Thank you to the Public Interest Law Organization (PILO) at the University of Houston Law Center for the opportunity to speak to your members and law students today! It was a pleasure to discuss the crucial civil legal services provided by Lone Star Legal Aid, serving millions of Texans in need of advocacy and representation. We are committed to protecting the rights of those living in poverty and ensuring equal access to justice. It was also a great moment to reconnect with my friend and former colleague, now clinic professor at UHLC, Ryan Marquez. Working alongside dedicated professionals like Ryan has always been a rewarding experience, and it's inspiring to see him shaping the future leaders in public interest law. To the students in the room: your passion and commitment are the driving forces behind the next generation of public interest law.
