About us

London International Awards has established itself as a global competition, celebrating creativity, the power of ideas and new technology in all forms of Advertising, Digital, Production, Design, Music & Sound and Technology. Launched in 1986 as an awards for advertising, LIA began with a mission to be different. LIA was the first truly international award, honoring Television Advertising / Cinema Advertising, Print Advertising and Radio Advertising from around the world. LIA now accepts entries into 22 unique media types: Ambient, Billboard, Branded Entertainment, Design, Digital, Health & Wellness, Health & Wellness - Craft, Integration, Medical, Medical - Craft, Music & Sound, Music Video, Non-Traditional, Package Design, Poster, Print, Production & Post-Production, Radio & Audio, Social Influencers, The NEW, TV/Cinema/Online Film and Verbal Identity. Each year nearly 100 of the industry's top creatives from agencies, production companies, design houses and technology companies are invited to judge on the twelve LIA panels. The Juries are comprised of the most talented, recognized and awarded individuals from around the globe. It is the commitment to the integrity of the judging process and the contributions of the Jury Presidents and their respective juries that uphold LIA's tradition of awarding only the most creative ideas. In 2012, LIA decided that one of the best ways to give back to the industry was to create a mentoring program, fully funded by LIA, called ‘Creative Conversations.’ We have since renamed ‘Creative Conversations’ to Creative LIAisons. This program runs concurrently with the LIA Judging, annually flying out nearly 100 young creatives for a series of interactive "conversations" with industry luminaries, as well as an intimate peak inside the final round of statue discussions.

  • Why Enter LIA? See why some of our past award-winning jurors think you should enter the show that is 'Created for Creatives'! Malcolm Poynton, Global CCO/President Creative, Cheil Worldwide: “What sets LIA apart is that there’s no pre-judging. We all judged every piece of work together, giving us an opportunity to discuss the work while it’s still fresh, as opposed to judging in isolation, only to come into the jury room a few weeks later wondering, ‘What’s that piece of work again?’ One would expect glitzy Las Vegas to be too distracting a place for jury duty. Yet, this was probably one of the most focused, yet relaxed juries I’ve ever been on.” Chaka Sobhani, President/Global CCO, DDB Worldwide: “The thing that makes LIA so special is the amount of heart that there is in putting back into the industry and what I mean by that, is it’s about the young talent that is coming through and emerging and the program is insane. It’s literally like a university course, just condensed and I know for all of our teams who have been lucky enough to come here it’s been a genuinely life-changing experience for them and one that really helps shape them and their career. They come back to their agencies and their buzzing and they share those experiences and it sort of has a ripple effect of their Guan Hin Tay, Creative Chairman, BBDO Singapore: “What I love about judging at LIA is that everything is judged in person. There was no online judging, so we saw everything together. I made sure that each judge had a voice in the room, creating a fair system. The judges were very meticulous and critical. I must say, if you got even a finalist, you've done a great job.” Bianca Guimaraes, ECD, Mischief @ No Fixed Address, Brooklyn: "Being a part of the jury, after having participated in the Creative LIAisons program several years ago, was the biggest proof of how programs like this can help creatives thrive and jump into leadership positions. I'm super grateful and also inspired by the crazy smart people from the Non-Traditional jury. It was good to be in-person. The energy in the room, seeing people react to the work, the live discussions, it changes everything. I learned a lot and came out of it energized." Jimmy Smith, Chairman/CEO/Chief Creative Director, Amusement Park Entertainment: “In some jury rooms, people have their boxing gloves on. But we agreed at the beginning: we're not here for our agencies or for ourselves. In fact, even if you disliked somebody, that doesn't mean you cannot vote for their work.” Joel Simon, CEO/Chief Creative Officer, JSM Music: “Our jury was very strong. LIA puts in a lot of effort to ensure that the jury is well-represented to ensure a diversity of perspectives: we had jurors from different regions, and who were masters of different disciplines.” #LIA #LIAawards #CreatedForCreatives #Creativity #Awards #Creative #LIAjudging #CreativeExcellence https://lnkd.in/e6n-4Y7K

  • Check out a clip from this gem! This past episode of Transatlantic hosted by Simone Nobili featuring Sir John Hegarty contains great words of wisdom. LIA is proud to be a partner with Transatlantic to continue providing creative and interesting content.

Global Creative Director, Writer / Creator & Host of TRANSATLANTIC at London International Awards

One of the gems of Transatlantic, nestled among the pearls of "Best of," is what Sir John Hegarty revealed to me about the origin of ideas. A few months later, I connected his sense of wonder with the triptych baits of David Lynch and how it's all about three steps: you bait, you hook, and you wait. There's an inexplicable pattern structured around the discovery of ideas. Stay away from anyone who wants to turn it into a science. ⚓️ TRANSATLANTIC at London International Awards LIA - London International Awards The Business of Creativity The Garage Soho #transatlantic #bestof #interviewseries #lia

Architect | Designer | Writer 2024 Young Lynx Winner

Seldom do you get a chance to discuss people, society and cultural psychology through the lens of design, and I'm grateful to have gotten one during my mentorship session with Thomas Mueller As a designer at heart, deeply immersed in the realms of Architecture, Branding and now Advertising as well, I've often found myself navigating unfamiliar territory. However, being mentored by Thomas has been enlightening, revealing how thoughtful design can harness opportunities. Discovering our mutual passion for design and aligned vision on its impact within society and the commercial industry was truly exhilarating. We spoke about our shared observations around art and culture in Germany and the UAE and how the industry is embracing the transition from traditional advertising to a more holistic, user experience approach. Thank you Thomas Mueller for making time, sharing your invaluable insights with me, and addressing my queries with compassion and kindness. Here’s to being whimsical artists at heart and commercial artists for a living! Thank you LIA - London International Awards for arranging this session for us. #LondonInternationalAwards #LIAsons2024 #mentorship #creativeentrepreneurs #design #advertising #LIAsonsmentee2024

  • Announcing the 2024 LIA Non-Traditional and TV & Cinema and Online Film Juries chaired by Nadja Lossgott, Chief Creative Officer, AMV BBDO, London and Marco Venturelli, CCO, Publicis France and CEO/CCO, Publicis Conseil, Paris! Nadja, as a first time Jury President for LIA, says in accepting this position for the Non-Traditional competition, “I’m thrilled to be judging the work that doesn’t fit a specific mould and sits outside of the boundaries of the known. These are the ideas and executions that plot a new path for our industry.” Marco Venturelli stated, “What I love about LIA is the quality of the juries and the level of discussions. To be able to review together all submissions live is priceless. LIA is a benchmark in our industry. We're not only looking for the best work, but for the few pieces that truly move us forward. The few pieces that reinvent how we do our jobs, from conception to execution.” LIA's power-house juries will be onsite at Encore @ Wynn, Las Vegas for all rounds of judging. LIA’s transparent judging ensures that all jurors see every piece of work in their respective categories, having spirited discussions and debates through the very end of statue discussions.
