Mental health deserves more attention than just a day. As we navigate a world dominated by social media and constant digital noise, it is easy to forget how this unhealthy relationship with technology can deepen anxiety, stress, and isolation. Let’s rethink our digital habits and make space for genuine connection and well-being—every day🧡
LOG OFF Movement
Civic and Social Organizations
A youth-led nonprofit dedicated to helping children and youth build healthier relationships with social media and tech.
About us
We are committed to helping children and youth build healthier relationships with social media, digital platforms, and technology. Our mission extends beyond education—we aim to empower children and youth from all around the world to become advocates for healthier and safer social media practices. The LOG OFF Movement was created in June 2020 by Emma Lembke, then a high school senior. Inspired by her personal struggle with social media usage and its negative impact on her mental health, Emma recognized a critical gap in youth representation in social media advocacy. In response, LOG OFF was formed to elevate and empower youth voices in this crucial dialogue. Since its launch, LOG OFF has dedicated itself to addressing the complexities of social media and its impact on younger generations. Our efforts include a range of initiatives such as advocacy campaigns, building a supportive youth community, producing a podcast, and starting The Network, our online newspaper. Over the past four years, our movement has grown and evolved. We are now led by a core team of eight passionate young individuals and operate hand-in-hand with a diverse team of young people from across the United States and around the world. Together, we strive to create a safer, healthier digital environment for everyone.

Our Executive Director, Emma Lembke, had the distinct honor of speaking at the White House as the Biden administration released its first online safety report from the Task Force on Kids Online Health and Safety. She spoke on a panel about her experience as a young tech user and a digital activist and shared the positive impact this Task Force can make. We commend the current administration for all their work to ensure that children and youth have healthier and safer digital experiences.
