Australia’s first Zero Carbon Certified building is a landmark for regenerative office retrofits.  “Chadstone Place is a sustainability showcase that demonstrates the possibilities when an owner and tenant partner to create a net zero workplace. Importantly, it also highlights that the greenest buildings can be the ones that already exist.” said David Waldren the National Head of Design for Vicinity, the building’s owner.  Vicinity collaborated closely on the project with their tenant Officeworks who has a target to use 100% renewable energy by 2025 and net zero emissions by 2030. Chadstone Place demonstrates marked progress toward those goals with its 440kW photovoltaic array and ILFI Zero Carbon Certification which “means 100% of its carbon has been assessed and addressed, demonstrating actual decarbonisation.” explained the CEO of Living Future Institute of Australia, Laura Hamilton-O’Hara. Please join us in congratulating the full project team on this pioneering achievement! Read more here: https://bit.ly/3XYrFEp #zerocarbon #retrofits #firsts #netzero

Helping create a world where EVERYONE lives in buildings that are safe, healthy, efficient and affordable.

It is pretty exciting to see the momentum building around the idea of #regeneration and #regenerativebuilding. This event at climate week with Holcim and Systemiq Ltd. was a great indication of our progress! We must move towards regenerative practices and not just less bad ones!

Congregations are confronting what to do with their sacred structures as attendance declines in a challenging economy. At the Future of Church Property conference—organized by Princeton Theological Seminary—real estate experts "reimagined the future for church buildings." Our CEO Lindsay Baker spoke to the attendees about how to apply regenerative design principles to churches as an opportunity to leverage funding that is available and align with the values of the congregation. “Young people are really motivated by climate action and thoughtful community engagement,” said Baker. Sometimes simply “greening” old buildings can show prospective churchgoers that a congregation shares their values. Baker suggested improving the health profile of churches while shrinking their impact on the environment by using nontoxic flooring materials, increasing ventilation, replacing oil or gas with electric heat pumps and installing solar panels for power and shade.  Read the full article here: https://bit.ly/47Xh4yj #regenerativebuilding #church #climateaction
