This year’s Global Exchange Conference was a memorable experience, even though it concluded early because of Hurricane Milton. While many of our team members returned home, most stayed to assist with the final activities, including packing and dismantling our booth. We also celebrated the birthdays of two wonderful staff members, Luke and Michayla! A heartfelt thank you to the GXC2024 team for hosting such an impactful event. Our team volunteered during the conference, participated in sessions, made valuable connections, and shared Alina Lodge’s mission and values with other attendees. A big shoutout to the devoted Alina Lodge team who remained on campus to support our guests. Your dedication truly represents the values we uphold. Be sure to check out some highlights from the event! 🌟

Yesterday, we proudly hosted a panel titled "Ethical Crossroads: Perspectives on Behavioral Health Treatment in the Northeast." The discussion included insights from William Robbins, Peter Lazar, Alyssa Fountain, and Shauna Moses, moderated by Amy Durham. This event was inspired by the recent report from the New Jersey State Commission, which highlighted unethical practices within certain substance use disorder treatment centers. We emphasized the vital importance of strong, ethical collaboration among treatment centers to support individuals with substance use disorders. By working together, we can ensure that when one center is unable to provide the necessary assistance, another can step in. Our collective goal is clear: to deliver quality care ethically and safely to as many individuals as possible. Thank you to everyone who joined us and participated in such a meaningful discussion. Today, our Executive Director Bill Robbins and Nikki Soda had the privilege of attending the New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies' Fall Conference in Princeton, NJ. This year's theme focused on innovation and integrating fresh ideas into our systems. During the conference, Bill and Nikki connected with Valeria Mielke, Deputy Commissioner for Health Services at the NJ Department of Human Services. Valeria shared insights from her 20+ years of dedicated service and led an engaging panel with other Chief Officers from the department, discussing the critical role of Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) and the department's exciting upcoming plans. They also spoke with the Program Manager from the Division of Addiction Psychiatry at Rutgers University about their novel intervention based on Mindfulness Oriented Recovery Enhancement (MORE). This innovative, neuroscience-informed, evidence-based treatment addresses both addiction and chronic pain, highlighting the importance of holistic approaches in recovery. Alina is proud to be a member of NJAMHAA and inspired by our state's commitment to advancing mental health and addiction services! #MentalHealth #Addiction #Mindfulness #Recovery #AlinaLodge #NJAMHAA
