Summer programs are a wrap for the Read! Lead! Succeed! program! Campers enjoyed read-together story times on topics such as mindfulness, kindness, and the meaning of philanthropy. They also got to learn about and use a variety of different art mediums to explore their creativity as an extension of the stories they read. The Read! Lead! Succeed! program promotes literacy, creativity and self-awareness for youth in kindergarten through 5th grade. 🎨📕❤️     Read! Lead! With the start of school, Stories & STEM is ready to rock with Team Witch Doctor, from the hit show BattleBots®! Team Captain Andrea Gellatly is a female powerhouse in STEM as a research and development engineer, the co-founder of MakeMIA Makerspace and even a children’s book author. Children at Village Academy kicked off their summer with the Read! Lead! Succeed! program by reading about the power of #Kindness. They read "You Can Be a Friend" by Tony & Lauren Dungy. The program promotes literacy, creativity and self-awareness for K-5th grade youth. The Literacy Coalition recently celebrated the 2023-24 year at the Blume Literacy Center. The Annual Meeting highlighted the Coalition's dedication and commitment to improving the quality of lives in our community through programs, events and initiatives to help children and adults achieve literacy outcomes.
