We could not be more excited to announce the launch of our 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗖 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝘂𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 (𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗶) 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺! REDi, made possible through support from the City of Charlotte and Wells Fargo, will offer training and support to dramatically accelerate the number of developers who are credit-ready and better equipped to utilize capital to advance their projects. REDi will support more inclusive and equitable wealth creation among emerging developers. Through a cohort-based curriculum, firms will receive technical assistance, coaching, and access to resources that will equip them to reduce barriers to market entry and expansion. Participating owners or senior partners must meet eligibility requirements. Firms located in the Corridors of Opportunity geography, or that have a real estate project located in the Corridors geography will be prioritized for program participation. We aim to help program participants expand their capacity and access to projects, while becoming more competitive as the City of Charlotte’s affordable housing and commercial project pipeline grows. Can we talk about the BayHaven Food and Wine Festival developed by Gregory Collier and Subrina C.? Members of our team had an amazing time enjoying fine food and drinks that explored the Black diaspora! This year, the annual event event took place in #HistoricWestEnd and featured diverse chefs, great music, and conversations over multiple days. Thank you to sponsors including Knight Foundation and Wells Fargo who supported this cultural affair that nurtures community, highlights great talent, and supports culinary and hospitality business owners. You might be familiar with: ✔ Affordable housing (We are continuing to work with developers to help deliver more affordable housing in Charlotte.) ✔ Health and Safety (We are helping to deliver more fresh food options, access to healthcare, and other services that contribute to one's well-being through capacity building and technical support to CDCs that support residents.) ✔ Sports and Recreation (We collaborate with local sports organizations to deliver funding and facilities that bring the community together through exercise and play.) But did you know that we also deliver a variety of support to small businesses? ✔ Small business and Economic Development Small businesses are a driving force for the state of our economies and health of our communities. Our Executive Director Ralphine Caldwell took a moment to share about our amazing partnership with Fifth Third Bank and Enterprise Community Partners, which supports resident led initiatives in West Charlotte. The Empowering Black Futures Program has supported our grassroots partners in achieving initiatives that they imagined to be more long-term, but that are now coming to fruition. This includes projects like The Legacy at Carr Heights that offers 120 senior apartments, developed in partnership with the West Side Community Land Trust (West Side CLT) that will maintain ownership of the land.  We are incredibly thankful for our partners and the many opportunities that they are helping the community to bring to life. #TogetherwecanTogetherwewill #CommunityDevelopment #LISC
