Last month, we were proud to celebrate the graduates of our shared residency program with @nu.sb.plasticsurgery. Since1954 our practice has helped to train nearly 150 surgeons, many of whom have gone on to build successful practices and careers within the medical field. Residents admitted to our shared program are granted the unique opportunity to train within three major institutions alongside approximately 30 different surgeons. This collaborative approach, and the wealth of knowledge and experience it offers, has created one of the most diverse programs in the country. Please join us in congratulating this year’s graduating residents, Dr. Hannah Hoffman, Dr. Abdel Armaiz-Flores, and Dr. Rafael De Ayala. This past week, those closest to Dr. Simpson, both personally and professionally, came together to celebrate his monumental career in plastic surgery. The night provided an opportunity to reminisce on four decades of meaningful memories and impactful moments. Throughout the years Dr. Simpson has been a cornerstone of New York Plastic Surgical Group, instilling within us an ideology that values trust, compassion, and integrity. With his leadership we have grown not only as a practice, but also, a family. During his speech, Dr. Simpson said, “The success of our group has always been about the success of the next generation of plastic surgeons and the excellent work they will do for their patients and their community. Forty-four years at one job that you like seems to go by in the blink of an eye. The successes, accolades, and even the thank you letters that come about come because of tireless work, energy, opportunities, and recognition that one cannot accomplish this alone.” While we are sad to see Dr. Simpson go, we are excited to watch him enjoy this next chapter of life as he travels, spends quality time with family, and even continues to attend some special conferences! #happyretirement #thegentlemanplasticsurgeon
