Today marks half-a-decade of Zamiya Sabour working at LINK—and we simply wouldn’t have grown into the firm we are today without her. Unfortunately, she’s a Dallas Cowboys fan. But, aside from that shortcoming, she’s grown into a brilliant leader who takes an empathetic, graceful, and nuanced approach to understanding complex community challenges and discovering new strategies for progress. We can’t wait to see what the next five years bring!

Earlier this week, #TeamLINK was honored to support the kick-off for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2025 Leukemia Ball, which will be held on March 29, 2025 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. LLS’ mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The Leukemia Ball, which LINK has been proud to support for the last 5 years, has raised over $74 million for LLS since it began in 1988. Our team had the honor of listening to impactful speakers who are changing the lives of patients and their families through the three pillars of LLS’ work—research, policy and advocacy, and patient support. The Leukemia Ball raises money to support these three pillars and continue making an impact. One speaker, Ryan Holeywell, the Executive Director of Policy and Advocacy Communications at LLS shared in his remarks that "advocacy is about tearing down barriers so that patients can get the care they need," adding "this is a community that doesn't take 'no' for an answer."

On Wednesday, #TeamLINK had the honor of being invited by DC Department of Employment Services Director Unique Morris-Hughes , PhD to attend the DC Department of Employment Services’ Walk for Workforce, a walk through the community where participants visited areas where DOES’ efforts had made a meaningful impact. More than 100 DOES team members participated, as well as proud agency partners–like LINK! Facilitated in partnership with Run Hope Work, Walk for Workforce was the first event of this kind for DOES. LINK has been a longtime champion of DC Paid Family Leave and we were delighted to join the walk, connecting with and learning from DOES and Run Hope Work leaders, staff, volunteers, and partners. This was the start of something special!

#HispanicHeritageMonth is here! As we continue to celebrate, #TeamLINK was honored to attend a special Hispanic Heritage Month reception hosted by Tiempo Company at TCMA for Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center earlier this month. It was a privilege to hear words of wisdom from our good friend Mark L. Madrid and speak with luminaries in the District during the reception. It was a wonderful way to get an early start on one of the best months of the year!

What a day! #TeamLINK was delighted to have been part of the incredible journey that led to the ribbon cutting of the Catherine and Isiah Leggett Math and Science Building today at Montgomery College! Over the past several years, LINK has been proud to work alongside the Montgomery College team, the local community, SmithGroup and Barton Malow to engage with community stakeholders as this vision was brought to life, creating a state-of-the-art facility that will serve as a hub for innovation and learning for years to come. This project was a true collaboration between #MontgomeryCollege, its partners, and the community—coming together to ensure students, staff, faculty, and community members have the spaces they need to thrive in fields that will shape the future of Montgomery County’s economy. A huge thank you to Montgomery College for the opportunity to contribute to such a transformative project, and to all the stakeholders for their support and dedication. Here’s to many more years of #partnership and progress! #BuildingTheFuture #CommunityImpact
