Restaurateur Billy Grise, whose great-grandfather founded the iconic Caserta's Italian eatery in Piqua, Ohio, is set to honor his family's legacy with his new venture, Carmelo's. The restaurant, named after his great-grandfather, will offer family-style Italian dishes and an extensive wine selection imported from Italy. Located in a former office building in Covington, the restaurant is the culmination of a long-held dream for Grise and his business partner Mitch Arens. The duo envisioned opening their own restaurant, and Carmelo's is the realization of that dream. The restaurant's menu will include traditional Italian dishes like lasagna, spaghetti, and meatballs, as well as a wide range of imported Italian wines. The location, a former office space, required extensive renovations to transform it into a restaurant, including installing new kitchen equipment, polished concrete and tile flooring, and cabinetry. https://lnkd.in/gw5u8Cex

After 44 years of service, Tom Fromme is set to retire as Newport's city manager at the end of the year. His career has spanned roles from police chief to city manager, all while being deeply influenced by his parents' civic pride. Fromme's service to the city has been marked by his commitment to excellence, leading the police department to achieve accreditation and overseeing the development of the Newport Pavilion on Carothers Road, which helped the city financially. Under his leadership, Newport's total appraised property value has increased from $500 million to nearly $1.5 billion, and the city's payroll tax has tripled. This week, we delve into the culinary scene of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, where tradition and innovation meet. The Greyhound Tavern, a century-old establishment, offers classic comfort food in a nostalgic atmosphere. Its fried chicken is a must-try, while the Greyhound Garden provides a serene outdoor dining experience. Camporosso, a small Italian eatery, has garnered fame for its wood-fired pizzas, earning it the title of Pizzeria of the Year by Pizza Today. The menu features a variety of pizzas, including the soppressata hot honey pizza and the goetta taco, which has become a local favorite. Braxton Barrel House, a midweek escape for a well-earned pint, offers 22 rotating beers, bourbon, wine, and cocktails, along with a resident food truck, Taco Fuerte, for snacking needs. The establishment also hosts events, live music, and release parties for their newest barrel creation or collaboration. https://lnkd.in/gr-BUDyb
