We had an amazing time hosting the talented FIRST Tech Challenge teams of the Broomfield STEM / Broomfield Robotics Club at our Lightship office in Broomfield! It was a pleasure to give them a tour and share insights from our engineers about the exciting and challenging journey of building a startup. The BroomBots even demonstrated their robot and had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with our engineering team. We wrapped up the day with Crumbl cookies and a fun game of pickleball. Thanks to everyone who made this visit so memorable! #STEM #InspiringTheFuture #TeamLightship

Toby Kraus, our CEO, and Hayley Cashdollar, our head of operations, were recently invited to an event where they had the opportunity to meet with Senator John Hickenlooper. They discussed how government agencies can better support climate tech and climate initiatives through legislation. It was a valuable discussion on how policy can accelerate the transition to sustainable technologies and help companies like Lightship drive meaningful change in the fight against climate change. We are grateful for the chance to contribute to such important conversations - thanks to Prelude Ventures for connecting us to the opportunity. #ClimateTech #Sustainability #PolicyInnovation

A lesser-known part of Lightship’s early days was that our co-founder Ben Parker originally started with the idea of electrifying food trucks in the Bay Area. Shortly after meeting our other co-founder, Toby Kraus, and Ben saw a greater opportunity—to build America’s first all-electric RV company. Fast forward, and our journey came full circle just last month when we hosted an event for local Lightship reservation holders at our new depot in South San Francisco. We brought in the amazing Señor Sisig food truck, which was the first food truck Ben worked on electrifying—and this time, we powered it with the L1! A lesser-known story from Lightship's infancy is that I first began working on the business with the idea to electrify all of the food trucks in the SF Bay Area. It wasn't long before Toby Kraus and I realized that the most pressing need and opportunity was to build Lightship as America's first all-electric RV manufacturer, but our early roots in food trucks came full circle a month ago as we hosted an event for local Lightship reservation holders at our new depot in Oyster Point (South SF) and fed our guests from the same great Señor Sisig truck I had first worked on electrifying. Bonus: we used L1's capability as a giant power station to power the truck! https://lnkd.in/gMbMpi4A #startup #storytime #electricrv #rv #foodtruck #allelectric

We’re reimagining the road trip experience to drive toward a more sustainable future. Since 2020, with the support of HSBC Innovation Banking, we’ve been on a mission to build the first purpose-built, all-electric RV. HSBC visited our Colorado manufacturing facility and spoke with some of our leaders who are helping bring the Lightship L1, our first product, to life: Rory Marsh, head of finance and business, Hayley Cashdollar, head of operations, Ben Parker, Chief Product Officer, and Toby Kraus, CEO. We’re honored to be featured as their main campaign during NY Climate Week as we continue to lead the way as a future-focused climate tech company. Watch the story HSBC shared here: https://lnkd.in/gdAR3_Gt And for those of you attending Climate Week NYC → Keep an eye on your Uber app and you might just see a cameo of the Lightship L1.
