This week, Liberty Hospital and The University of Kansas Health System teamed up for a successful hiring event on the Liberty campus. It was a pleasure connecting with so many enthusiastic candidates eager to join our dedicated teams at both Liberty Hospital and the Health System. We look forward to welcoming new talent who share our commitment to providing exceptional care!

Sally Sanford, RN, 4 South, is this month’s The DAISY Foundation Award recipient! The DAISY Award is given to exceptional nurses in healthcare who provide their patients with premier care and compassion. I wanted to reach out to “Thank You” from the bottom of my heart for the way you cared for me during my stay at Liberty Hospital. Yor were stern and honest while also being quick-witted and ornery. Your bedside manner was amazing and made a necessary hospital stay as comfortable as possible. It was so impressive that you have the ability to move so quickly but still pay attention to every little detail when it came to my care. I could tell you only wanted the best for me and made sure I was listening to the instructions provided so that my recovery would be as quick as possible. You, Sally are a remarkable nurse! I would nominate you to be the “Nurse of the Century” based on how you cared for me. I appreciate you so very much! When we recognize Hispanic Heritage Month, we take the time to celebrate diversity, deepen our understanding, and embrace the rich culture that distinguishes Hispanic and Latinx communities. This month, we honor our employees and staff of Hispanic heritage and the great impact this community has on different cultures and our diverse walks of life. We believe in celebrating this vibrant community not only this month but year-round.

Thanks to the Liberty Hospital and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church volunteers who distributed food to 164 families tonight at the inaugural mobile food pantry on our campus for Harvesters - The Community Food Network. There is need in the Northland for equitable access to nutritious food, and it was wonderful to help meet that need for our community.

We are proud to announce that our very own Chief Nursing Officer, Regenia Stull, has been named one of the Top 50 Chief Nursing Officers of 2024 by Women We Admire!    Regenia's leadership, dedication and passion for patients is inspiring, and this recognition is well-deserved. She continues to set the standard for excellence in nursing, and we are fortunate to have her guiding our team. Regenia Stull
