Sally Sanford, RN, 4 South, is this month’s The DAISY Foundation Award recipient! The DAISY Award is given to exceptional nurses in healthcare who provide their patients with premier care and compassion. I wanted to reach out to “Thank You” from the bottom of my heart for the way you cared for me during my stay at Liberty Hospital. Yor were stern and honest while also being quick-witted and ornery. Your bedside manner was amazing and made a necessary hospital stay as comfortable as possible. It was so impressive that you have the ability to move so quickly but still pay attention to every little detail when it came to my care. I could tell you only wanted the best for me and made sure I was listening to the instructions provided so that my recovery would be as quick as possible. You, Sally are a remarkable nurse! I would nominate you to be the “Nurse of the Century” based on how you cared for me. I appreciate you so very much! If I ever have another hospital stay, I can only pray that you will be the attending nurse! Thank you again! Congratulations, Sally, and thank you for all that you do at Liberty Hospital! Go to libertyhospital.org to learn more about how you can nominate an exceptional nurse for the DAISY Award.

Thanks to the Liberty Hospital and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Redemptorist Church volunteers who distributed food to 164 families tonight at the inaugural mobile food pantry on our campus for Harvesters - The Community Food Network. There is need in the Northland for equitable access to nutritious food, and it was wonderful to help meet that need for our community.
