This morning, we were joined by Bra Couture KC who presented a $10,000 check to the Mathes Appearance Center. These vital funds will be used to help under and uninsured patients receive cancer care garment and wig fittings. Thank you to Sharon Payne, Founder and Executive Director, for helping raise funds for patients at the Breast Care Center At Liberty Hospital. Dr. Amy K. Patel has been instrumental in helping launch the concept of a Patient Resource Room, building our space from the ground-up for many years. Thank you, Dr. Patel for putting dedication into your community and patients every day. The TreeHouse is a cornerstone pillar of care for Liberty Hospital because of you!

Here, we recognize veteran and new nurses, education and manager leaders for the incredible work they do. With over 120+ nominations, it is clear that staff holds high regard for one another. Congratulations to Karen Mathes, ’80, who will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at Jewell’s Commencement to add to her other recognitions for civic achievement, leadership and service. A retired nurse manager at Liberty Hospital and honorary member of the Liberty Hospital Foundation, Karen has dedicated her career and volunteer endeavors to the advancement of healthcare and education, especially assisting students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She also started Advanced Logistics and Fulfillment, a successful company that complemented a family business, and built a management team comprised primarily of women.
