🌟 **Making History at Legacy Volleyball Club!** 🌟 I'm thrilled to share that our Boys 18 National Team at Legacy Volleyball Club has made history at the AAU National Championships in Orlando, FL. This season, our athletes have showcased their immense talent and dedication, competing across the nation in cities such as Chicago, Virginia, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and right here in New York. At Legacy, our mission goes beyond the court. We've exposed these young athletes to the larger national stage of volleyball, where their skills have caught the eyes of recruiters from prestigious schools, including UCLA. It's been a transformative experience for many of these players—some of whom had never been out of the Bronx or even on a plane before this season. Our seniors have left an indelible mark as the most competitive team in Legacy history. Boys Director Fitz, Coach Muhammad Mbaye and Coach Joel Sanchez have been instrumental in guiding these athletes, and we're excited to see our seniors excel in college and beyond. Notably, Kristof Spellen (#10) will be competing at MIT, Joseph Sharpe (#6) will be joining the D1 team at Queens University in North Carolina, and Justin Lau (#16) will be attending and playing at Manhattanville College. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the First Point Volleyball Foundation for their incredible support and to AAU Volleyball for organizing a tremendously well-run event. The impact of our work is profound, providing life-changing opportunities and experiences for these young athletes. We're eager to welcome new players next season and continue elevating the game. 🎉 Happy 12th Anniversary, Legacy Volleyball Club! 🎉 Today, I'm filled with immense joy and gratitude as we celebrate a milestone that started as a concept when I was just 14 years old. It's an honor to look back on this journey and see how far we've come. Legacy was founded when I was 24, fueled by a dream to provide volleyball opportunities for everyone, regardless of their background or available resources, especially in the poorest congressional district in the US. Now, 12 years later, we stand tall with over 30 teams, thousands of athletes, and a legacy of changing lives. Our impact goes beyond the volleyball court, as we have witnessed thousands of kids graduate, attend college, or passionately pursue their dreams. We've become a catalyst for inspiration, pushing the needle forward and empowering our community to reach new heights. I am filled with an overwhelming sense of pride for Legacy and the incredible work we do. We've accomplished so much, yet our journey is far from over. As we blow out the candles on this 12th birthday, let's reflect on the lives we've touched, the barriers we've broken, and the dreams we've nurtured. To all the athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters who have been a part of this incredible journey, thank you!
