About us

The Lee County Sheriff's Office headquarters is located at 14750 Six Mile Cypress Parkway, Fort Myers, Florida. There are several Sheriff's Office districts, each with an office. Resident deputies are also assigned to Boca Grande and Captiva islands. The Sheriff is defined as a "constitutional officer" and derives his legal authority from the Constitution of the State of Florida. The Sheriff is vested with the ability to appoint and direct deputies who will act in his name and office to enforce the appropriate and applicable laws of the State of Florida. Those deputies of the Lee County Sheriff's Office who are Certified Law Enforcement officers must maintain a thorough working knowledge of the laws they enforce and the underlying principals from which they emanate.

The Warrants Unit Clerk is responsible for processing and maintaining arrestable paperwork. Paperwork includes but is not limited to: Warrants, Open Booking Sheets, Injunctions, No Contact Orders and Criminal Summons.   • WE'RE HIRING A COMMUNICATIONS CALL TAKER! Applications Accepted: July 10, 2024 - July 17, 2024 Starting Salary: $51,000 Role and Responsibilities: 🎧 Communications Call Takers respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, using a computer aided dispatch terminal (CAD) for entering call data. 🎧 Training consists of 3 weeks of classroom training at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and 460 hours of hands on training working directly with a Certified Trainer, after which the Call Taker must take and pass a state certification exam 🎧 Upon successful completion of the classroom training, hands-on training phases (phases 1-4), and passing the state certification exam, candidates are placed on a shift and begin their work as Call Takers. Work schedule will be 12 hour rotating shifts. 🎧 Communications Call Takers will continue to evolve in their positions and will be trained as Dispatchers. Dispatchers are responsible for receiving information and calls for service from Communications Call Takers, Deputies and other law enforcement agencies, assessing and prioritizing complaints and dispatching deputies in response to calls. Work involves maintaining contact with patrols, monitoring deputy responses, conducting inquiries and entries and relaying information to ensure that prompt, safe and effective response is made.
