Happy Labor Day! Observed the first Monday in September, Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers. The very first law recognizing Labor Day passed in Oregon on February 21st, 1887 and they set the date as the first Saturday in June. 7 years later on June 28th, 1894, Congress passed an act making the first Monday in September a legal holiday. On July 25th and 26th, nine Ledyard team members joined Cover Home Repair & Store to disassemble a loaner ramp, and build a new one from the ground up! Located in White River Junction, COVER Home Repair & Store brings together homeowners and volunteers to complete urgently needed home repair projects and facilitates the reuse of household goods and building materials.
