Since 1923 Kosair for Kids has had one primary mission - helping children in need. Kosair for Kids knows that the quality of a child's tomorrow depends largely on the quality of health, medical treatment, and support a child receives today. Kosair for Kids supports over 100 pediatric agencies in our community by donating funding for research, clinical services, health education and care every year. What have you accomplished in the last six months? Kosair Kid Clay spent that time overcoming the odds. We’re #grateful to report that he’s finally home from the hospital and getting acquainted with his newborn baby brother. Thank you to those who have followed this courageous boy’s journey, who continue to pray for him and his family, and who support Clay and #KosariKids like him through their time, talent, and treasure.
Kosair for Kids volunteers delivered the power of #joy at last week’s Boo at the Zoo. We treat 2,000 kids and their families to a special night at the Louisville Zoo each year. This sensory-friendly experience has become a real community event in its 20-year history. We thank everyone for their continued support in making moments like this possible. Dedicated Kosair for Kids Advisory Council members met today, collaborating for an even greater impact on our community. They heard from two very important speakers and discussed how, together, we can continue to help more children live life to the fullest. Dr. Melissa Currie, Child Abuse Pediatrician with the Kosair for Kids Division of Pediatric Forensic Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, is a key figure in the Face It Movement to end child abuse and neglect and a longtime partner in our effort to protect children. C. Brown Allen started the Kosair Kids Financial Assistance Program when he led the Board of Directors in the 1980s. His foresight and dedication created a legacy that continues today.
