Happy Welcome Wednesday! Join us in giving a warm welcome to our new Training Program Manager Matt Nizich 👋 Hailing from Nesconset, NY, Matt earned his degree in Political Science from Binghamton University. Before joining Kind Behavioral Health, he served as the Head of Learning and Development at a startup, where he collaborated with major clients like Amazon and Google, helping their revenue teams become more effective partners for their customers. When asked about his favorite aspect of learning and development, Matt shared, "I love making a real impact on my learners, helping them feel more confident and effective in their day-to-day roles." Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending quality time with his wife, a speech-language pathologist at UNC Hospital, and their adorable one-year-old daughter, Avery. He’s a "long suffering" NY Knicks fan and has a passion for volleyball and reading!

In Western North Carolina, including Asheville, many areas remain heavily impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Helene, with no access to water, power, internet, or cell service, making it hard to reach friends, family, or colleagues. Most roads to and from impacted areas have been closed, hampering rescue efforts and the ability for people and much-needed supplies to get into or out of these areas. Many of you have reached out asking about the health and safety of colleagues in the Asheville area. While the Asheville community at large will have a long road back to normalcy, we're pleased to share that all KBH team members and clients in the Asheville area are accounted for and safe, and team members’ homes have been largely spared from the storm’s devastation. Our new Asheville clinic space, which was about to begin hosting clients, did incur significant interior water damage, but nothing beyond repair. Our development team is working to identify a best path forward. To support recovery, KBH is expanding our volunteer program, offering our employees paid volunteer time in support of any Helene relief efforts. We are also currently working to arrange delivery of critical supplies to our team members in the area. We will continue to do our best to help these communities as they rebuild. The process is just beginning and we will be with Western NC every step of the way. 💙
