Having a business that builds on a platform, with heavy annual spends, only to discover a deaf ear when the company's AI makes a grievous error–like what is happening to my Key West First Legal Rum Distillery on Meta‘s Facebook–will lead to being forced to abandon said platform no matter how big a fan I am of it personally. Weak, performative, or ineffective customer service is incompatible with long-term success. The key to winning at social is the most simple business give in the world. It's good customer service. Yet not one platform has realized this yet. None. It is easy to be grateful as a business owner and customer when I am recognized, heard, and have authentic recourse.
