Last week several KCE employees were in Portland for the inaugural American Clean Power Association (ACP) Recharge Energy Storage Summit. It was a great few days of conversation, networking and industry leadership, including a panel discussion featuring KCE's Director of State Policy Julian Boggs focused on permitting challenges in markets across the country. Today, Key Capture Energy is closing its offices to commemorate Juneteenth and celebrate the end of slavery in the United States. Sometimes called the “Second Independence Day” the holiday originated in Galveston Texas – not far from our Houston offices – when a group of enslaved African Americans were informed of the end of the Civil War and their freedom. Last week KCE's Director of Development Phil Denara attended the Wading River Civic Association's meeting in Shoreham, NY to discuss KCE's NY 31 battery energy storage project. This 50MW facility will play a critical role in keeping Long Island's electric grid stable in the years ahead and help New York meet its clean energy goals. Thanks to everyone who attended! Last week the KCE Albany Office participated in the CDPHP Workforce Challenge, which raised over $20,000 for two local charities. Thanks to everyone for such a fun event, we’re already looking forward to next year!
