We are expanding S&P AI Benchmarks to provide researchers, financial professionals, and business leaders with more tools to objectively evaluate #AI systems like #LLMs. 🚀 Our newest benchmark assesses long-document QA and ranks how well an LLM can answer questions of extremely long and complex documents, like SEC filings. The rankings can help professionals understand the relative performance of LLM applications and corresponding #RAG architectures for specific financial and business use cases. Excited to attend COLM! Kensho Technologies is one of the sponsors, so swing by our recruiting booth and say hi. We have 3 open positions in my lab for NLP researchers: * Research Scientist (summer intern) * Research Scientist (full-time) * Senior Research Scientist (full-time). We mostly work on tokenization, long-doc QA, building evaluation sets, and model calibration! https://lnkd.in/e7mPGZdt

LLMs often struggle to process unstructured datasets such as PDF documents, causing businesses to invest considerable time and resources in structuring these documents for machine-readable outputs. In today's blog, Valerie Faucon-Morin explores how Kensho Extract is simplifying this process by making it easier to parse PDF documents and convert the output into AI-ready formats, leading to more streamlined workflows for LLM integration. Employee spotlight on David Bender, a Product Manager at Kensho. Kensho Link recently integrated with S&P Global Market Intelligence's Business Entity Cross Reference Service (BECRS) dataset. Customers can use Kensho Link to map company entities to the Capital IQ database and leverage BECRS' expansive coverage of third-party identifiers and corporate hierarchy navigation capabilities. The integration enables a one-step process, simplifying user workflows and enhancing efficiency. David gives us all the details about Link, BECRS, and more in a recent webinar. Kensho is working on research and solutions to assess and improve how well LLMs can accurately answer business and finance questions, which demands reasoning, precision, and extensive technical knowledge. At #ACL2024 in Bangkok last week, we presented three papers about evaluating #LLMs on rigorous finance and business tasks, along with tokenization (the problem of how to best parse and represent data). Out of 1,915 papers accepted to ACL, our tokenization paper was 1 of the 21 to receive an Area Chair award, and 1 of the 35 to receive an Outstanding Paper award. Kudos to the tokenization team and our awesome collaborators Omri Uzan and Yuval Pinter from Ben-Gurion University.
