KEMRON-Sevenson Environmental Services JV (KSES) was awarded a firm-fixed-price task order by USACE Louisville under our Small Business Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for Environmental Remediation Services for the Great Lakes and Ohio River (SB ERSC). This task order requires development of Section 408 Regional Categorical Permission (RCP) and Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) documents for states within the Sacramento Civil Works boundaries including California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Texas. The goal of the project is to regionalize the Categorical Permission issued by Sacramento District (SPK) across the South Pacific Division (SPD) by following the process recently completed for the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division (LRD) RCP. KEMRON Environmental Services' is making significant progress on a major remediation project at a 132-acre former zinc smelting site in Fairmont City, IL under a contract with the USACE St. Louis District. Since breaking ground in February 2024, we have started construction on a 35-acre consolidation cell for the disposal of heavy metal-contaminated materials. The project involves clearing and grubbing of 11 acres, remediating ~800,000 cubic yards of slag materials, removing 375,000 cubic yards of clean clay and general backfill, installing civil RCP/CMP, and the final site restoration. So far, we have completed the clearing and grubbing, remediated approximately 190,000 cubic yards of slag, and removed approximately 10,000 cubic yards of concrete. The project is on track to be completed by winter 2026, with a current contract value of $22.3 million. #remediation #environmental #smallbusiness
