KBSO Consulting LLC is a collaborative MEPT engineering, consulting, and design firm. This firm began with the vision to become the industry leader in sustainable and cohesive design solutions alongside property owners, architects, and developers. Our portfolio includes K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mixed Use. All our services are extensions of our emphasis on collaborative engineering. We know engineering design sometimes needs to play a supporting role to the original vision whether working with a historic building, renovations or new construction. When KBSO Consulting LLC had outgrown its leased office space and needed to relocate, the company found space close to its old office and collaborated with Studio M Architecture & Planning to purchase the property and design a building the two firms co-owned. As part of the design, the company knew it needed an HVAC solution that echoed the core values it held as a firm. Working with LG representative Envelop Group, the KBSO team selected LG's VRF technology to honor these core values and provide flexibility, energy efficiency, and comfort. #LifesGood #LGIsEverywhere

KBSO Consulting is honored to have provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and technology (MEPT) design for the 40,400-square-foot City of Fishers Arts and Municipal Complex currently under construction in Fishers, Indiana. Prioritizing safe public access and environmental sustainability, the new three-story building features municipal staff offices on the second and third floors above a first-floor arts center with performance spaces. A pedestrian breezeway provides access to the first-floor theatre, where sound attenuators and a quiet mechanical system enhance performance productions and audience engagement. Low-flow water fixtures and LED interior lighting promote environmental sustainability, while access controls, CCTV, and other security measures embedded in the low-voltage technology facilitate accessibility and safety. Outside, ample exterior lighting expands accessibility and safety measures in the outdoor performance space and parking areas, while rooftop curbs add to the interior theatre’s robust sound suppression. Everybody likes a good 'rebirth' story right? Who doesn't? The outcomes can be remarkable. But what often gets underplayed is the process that leads to these results. The years of research and analysis. The various programming scenarios. The city and neighborhood engagement to thoughtfully determine what the community really needs at a particular site. Grinding it out day after day to move the locomotive down the track inch by inch. The journey is where the magic happens.....not just at the ribbon cutting. This truth is not lost on us at DKGR when working on pivotal adaptive re-use and restoration projects such as the Cole Motor Redevelopment project currently underway just east of downtown Indy. The opportunity to 're-stitch' the near east side Holy Cross neighborhood back to the urban core. Done so by breathing new life into a historic automotive facility 100+ years later to serve the community in which it resides. Mixed-use housing, retail, commercial space and early education services coming in 2026.
