Clinical and support resources for Jewish LGBTQ youth, with a focus on teens from orthodox homes.

About us

JQY supports and empowers LGBTQ youth in the Jewish community, with a special focus on those from Orthodox, Chassidic, and Sephardi/Mizrachi homes. JQY promotes the mental health, emotional well-being and physical safety of these individuals by providing national crisis, communal, and advocacy resources, as well as in-person support programming in New York. We envision a reality in which LGBTQ youth from all Jewish communities have access to resources that allow them to feel safe, welcomed, and celebrated. We dream of a world where no young person, regardless of the religious affiliation of their upbringing, suffers from rejection, isolation, or shame.

Organizational-wide closures are a proven practice that have been utilized across sectors to promote habits of wellbeing, retention and productivity, and combat burn-out, attrition and exhaustion. Rest-based interventions, such as this, are a critical part of equity work, defining organizational culture and giving all team members agency to help make their day-to-day feel sustainable. The more we normalize rest as an integral part of the workplace (not just an added bonus for a lucky few!), the more effective and sustainable our talent and organizations will be. #futureofwork #organizationalculture #breakweek #restequalshope #orgwidevacation

"Wearing a Star of David necklace or a yarmulke today feels exactly the same to me as hanging a rainbow flag or sporting a Pride pin. Both are acts of resilience and expressions of identity in the face of adversity. They send a clear message: We are stronger than you think and we are not going anywhere." - Rachael Fried, Executive Director of JQY
